Job Summary

The Team

The Sea to Sky Natural Resource District Operations team is a well-rooted, established group of 20 forest professionals and support staff dedicated to managing BC's forest resources while supporting reconciliation with First Nations. Working closely with other forest authorizations and stewardship teams, this group branches out to tackle strategic and operational tasks that benefit British Columbians. They're known for being professional and welcoming, and their supportive atmosphere helps everyone grow. This is a team that works hard but also knows how to have fun- making an impact while keeping things light and lively.

The Role

As a Land and Resource Specialist, you'll lead 3-5 project teams of multidisciplinary experts, helping develop and coordinate strategic resource management plans. From crafting creative management solutions to supporting the early development of forest landscape plans, your role will be essential in fostering stewardship outcomes and supporting reconciliation. You'll be working with various ministries and First Nations partners, helping the district tackle some of its most complex challenges. Qualifications

Education
• A Technical Diploma or higher in a natural resource management related field (e.g., Forestry, Geography, or Natural Resource Management), OR
• An equivalent combination of education/training plus, 5 or more years of experience working in a natural resource discipline.

Experience
• Minimum 3 years of experience managing multiple projects or leading a component (e.g., sub-project) of a major project or regional initiative.
• Experience in managing project teams.
• Experience managing relationships with senior level partners.
• Experience with conflict and dispute resolution principles and practices.

Preference may be given to applicant with the following:
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

Provisos & Willingness Statements
• Have or be able to obtain a valid BC drivers' licence.
• Willingness to conduct field work which may include travel to remote areas by vehicle, boat, air or foot, and outdoor work in all weather conditions.
• Must be physically able to carry equipment and supplies in difficult terrain.
