Context: The Ministry ofWater, Land and Resource Stewardship is accountable for integrated land and natural resource management, including objective setting for land and marine environments, effectively managing cumulative effects, and advancing reconciliation with Indigenous peoples, environmental sustainability, and economic growth.

The Role: Reporting to a team lead and working in a variety of settings, the Land and Resource Coordinator works in diverse teams, gathers and manages complex natural resource data, completes analysis and develops options, provides advice to statutory decision makers, facilitates and coordinates projects and engages directly with a wide variety of stakeholders to support land/resource management decisions and resolve complex stewardship issues.

Job Requirements:
  • A Degree in a natural resource management related field (e.g., Forestry, Geography, or Natural Resource Management) PLUS, a minimum of one (1) years' related experience* working in a natural resource discipline.
  • A Technical Diploma in a natural resource management related field (e.g., Forestry, Geography, or Natural Resource Management) PLUS, a minimum of two (2) years' related experience* working in a natural resource discipline.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.


*Related Experience must include:
  • Experience managing multiple projects or leading a component (e.g., sub-project) of a project.
  • Experience managing relationships with stakeholdersand First Nation partners


Preference may be given to applicants with experience in the following:
  • Experience in natural resource project management and/or Wildlife projects.
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Individuals who hold a professional designation, such as a Registered Professional Biologist or Technician from the B.C.College of Applied Biology.
