Job Summary

The Team
BC Timber Sales (BCTS) in Mackenzie, BC, is offering a valuable opportunity for recent forest technology graduates through our Forest Technologist Entry Level Program (FTELP). This two-year program provides hands-on experience in forestry while supporting you in obtaining your forest professional designation. You'll be part of a well-established team of up to 18 members, including other FTELP technologists, supervisors, and various specialists, all working together in a collaborative environment. The Role
In this role, you will work on a range of technical and operational tasks related to planning, engineering, harvesting, and reforestation. With the support of experienced mentors, you'll progress from learning to handling these tasks independently across our northern business areas. The program is designed to develop your skills and prepare you for a successful transition into a role, based on your interest, within BCTS upon completion. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Recently graduated (within 4 years of start date) from a Forest Professionals British Columbia (FPBC)accredited Forest Technology diploma program or Forestry degree program.
  • Eligible for immediate enrolment with Forest Professionals British Columbia (FPBC) .
    • IMPORTANT:Professional designation with FPBC is required to be appointed at the STO 18 level. Successful applicants who do not have their professional designation will be appointed at the STO 15 level until they obtain their designation.
  • Have a valid Class 5 BC driver's licence.

About these Positions:
We currently have six (6) positions available. These positions are located in Mackenzie and begin May 12, 2025. These positions have on-site, office-based requirements.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future, similar opportunities within Mackenzie and other BC Timber Sales office locations .
The Forest Technologist Entry Level Program (FTELP) involves two (2) years of training, development and hands-on experience based in Mackenzie BC followed by full-time regular employment with BCTS. These are permanent opportunities.
Applicants who do not fully meet the required qualifications may be considered for these positions, but at a lower classification.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.

Note: immediately eligible for registration is defined as being able to transfer a current membership from an applicable jurisdiction. Applicants must confirm their eligibility with FPBC . Confirmation of registration/eligibility will be required before an offer of employment can be made.
