The KPMG Family Office, Cross Border Tax practice is a trusted advisor to high net worth individuals and their families, including owner managers, senior executives, athletes, and celebrities. We specialize in complex US and Canadian cross border tax matters, generational wealth transfer, and estate planning strategies. We are expanding and seeking tax professionals who are passionate about continuous learning, motivated by challenges, and enjoy resolving complex tax issues. Our specialized skills offer tax professionals exceptional career opportunities. We also offer a hybrid work arrangement for all, including candidates in the GTA and adjoining cities.
What you will do
As a lead member of our team, you will work closely with partners and senior leadership on Canadian and US tax planning projects and compliance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong engagement skills, technical expertise and excellent communication skills.

What you will do
As a lead member of our team, you will work closely with partners and senior leadership on Canadian and US tax planning projects and compliance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong engagement skills, technical expertise and excellent communication skills.
- Planning and leading engagements including Canadian and US personal tax planning, estate planning, and tax compliance.
- Developing relationships with clients as their trusted advisor, understanding their needs, and providing tax solutions and planning strategies.
- Reviewing and/or preparing memos and other deliverables on complex US and Canadian tax matters by analyzing complex issues. Holding discussions with clients and their advisors on planning strategies relating to income tax, estate and other tax related matters.
- Collaborating with other practices and member firms to attract new work to the firm.
- Presenting at internal and external forums, contributing to the learning of the junior learning members by participating in delivering technical trainings.
- The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 years of experience in complex cross border Canada and US personal tax advisory and compliance, including gift and estate planning for high-net-worth individuals and shareholders.
- Additional assets include US and/or Canadian CPA designations, US EA, completion of the In-Depth Tax Course, and a TEP through the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
- Strong research and writing skills, a commitment to professional and client service excellence,
- Competency with the Microsoft Office suite
