Job Description

Critical role to continue to build out the FP&A function for an already global and growing organization! We are looking for a skilled Senior Financial Analyst that enjoys creating robust models ideally with experience in Power BI to support our global client as they continue to expand and want to continue to seek better data to support decision making.

Our client is a technical leading company in its industry. Their product sells it in more than 90 countries and is manufactured locally in Richmond!  

Owned by private equity, they have a board run organization with complexity and polish but also a down to earth group that is tight knit.

What- the Role: 
Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join their growing finance team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in financial data analysis, Excel modeling, and consolidation of financial results across multiple entities. Proficiency with Power BI and an ability to use consolidation software (the company uses Datarails) is essential for this role. The Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role in supporting strategic decision-making through the development and maintenance of complex financial models, reporting systems, and insightful analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Modeling and Analysis – pricing and profitability:
    • Develop, maintain, and enhance complex financial models in Excel to support forecasting, budgeting, and long-term financial planning.
    • Maintain pricing models
    • Perform in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
    • Conduct variance analysis, comparing actual results to forecasts and budgets, providing actionable insights to management.
  • Data Consolidation and Reporting:
    • Lead the consolidation of financial statements across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
    • Utilize Datarails to streamline the global consolidation process and automate reporting across various departments and business units.
    • Create and manage comprehensive financial reports and dashboards in Power BI, providing management with real-time insights into business performance.
  • Financial Planning and Forecasting:
    • Collaborate with department heads to gather inputs and assumptions for budgets and forecasts.
    • Support the finance team in developing and refining budgeting processes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • System and Process Improvement:
    • Drive continuous improvements in financial reporting systems and tools, with a focus on automating manual processes using Power BI and Datarails.
    • Identify and implement best practices in financial data management and analysis in a manufacturing environment with global intercompany sales.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including accounting, operations, and senior leadership, to provide financial insights and decision support.
    • Present complex financial information in a clear, concise manner to non-financial stakeholders.
Who – the candidate:
We are seeking someone who is personable, professional and has strong customer service skills to build relationships with global stakeholders. Strong financial modeling experience in Excel and Power BI are essential for this exciting builder role.

Qualifications include:
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CPA designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial analysis, consolidation, and reporting, ideally within a multi-entity organization.
  • Expertise in financial modeling and advanced Excel skills, including macros, pivot tables, and data visualization.
  • Proficiency in Power BI, with experience building interactive dashboards and reports.
  • Strong experience with Datarails or similar financial consolidation software.
  • Solid understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines with a high level of accuracy.
Where: 
Richmond- full time in office.

How Much:
Competitive compensation commensurate with level of experience about $80-90,000 base depending on experience plus bonus, RRSP and great benefits.
