Job Type: Temporary, Full-Time (until January 29, 2027)
Salary Range: $67,861 - $97,550 per year. The starting salary for this position w245Eould be determined with consideration of the successful candidate's relevant education and experience and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan. Salary will be prorated accordingly for part time roles.
Location: 601 West Broadway Vancouver, BC V5Z 4C2
Hours of Work: Monday-Friday; 0830-1630

The Research Programmer provides technical support for research projects and clinical programs through the development of computer data modeling, programming, and software development and documentation.
What you'll do
- Design, plan and implement computer modeling of research data.
- Work with other project team members to develop and test code, and implements software.
- Develop graphical user interfaces.
- Prepare programming documentation in accordance with prescribed standards.
- Conduct literature reviews and provide input and recommendations to the Department Head or Principal Investigator regarding new computer applications or statistical techniques.
- Participate in the lab meetings and present work for review by others.
- May provide day to day work direction to others.
- Provide contributions to the preparation and/or presentation of research papers.
What you bring
Qualifications:
- A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to graduation from a recognized Bachelor's program in an appropriate discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Mathematics)
- Five (5) years of recent related experience in a research laboratory.
- Ability to perform 3D computer graphics, image processing and visualization utilizing specialized programming and modeling languages.
You have:
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
- Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).
