Salary Range: $71,846.00 - $115,129.00 per annum. Placement on the faculty salary scale is based on education, professional certification and experience and will be in accordance with the Collective Agreement.

The Veterinary Technology Program in the Faculty of Science and Technology at Douglas College is seeking full time and part time instructors, beginning in the Fall 2025 semester.

The Veterinary Technology Program at Douglas College is a two year diploma program. Students learn a broad set of skills to support Veterinarians in clinical and research settings and graduates are in high demand. For additional program information, please see:

We are currently seeking applicants for two regular faculty positions (part time/ full time). The successful candidates will deliver Veterinary Technology courses in the Fall, Winter and/or Summer semesters. You will instruct students, facilitate learning and evaluate student progress in College courses. You will plan, organize and manage learning activities and resources, provide academic advice to learners and maintain quality learner-centered instruction. Courses will be assigned based on individual expertise and the needs of the department and may include:
• Anatomy & Physiology
• Laboratory Procedures
• Administrative Procedures
• Pharmacology
• Systems-based theory courses (including anatomy, physiology, diseases, genetics, nutrition and medical/surgical treatments.
• Dentistry
• Anesthesia
• Veterinary Nursing
• Surgical Assistance ( DVM required)
• Lab Animals & Exotics
Details of the curricular requirements for these courses may be found on the College website.
Successful applicants will have a minimum of 3 years experience working full time in a small animal veterinary clinic or hospital (or part time equivalent) AND of one of the following:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine ( DVM ) or international equivalent, and registration with the College of Veterinarians of BC;
OR
A Diploma in Animal Health Technology or Veterinary Technology from an accredited program, and registration with the BC Veterinary Technology Association ( BCVTA ). Preference will be given to candidates who also possess a Master's degree.
DVMs and RVTs that do not meet the above requirements but have relevant teaching experience and/or alternate qualifications (e.g. VT specialty credential or PIDP ) will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Additional Information
The successful candidates must be able to teach at the Coquitlam Campus and may be expected to travel to the New Westminster Campus from time to time. Transportation to off-site locations may also be required.
Workload is assigned each year based on available sections.
