WHAT YOU'LL DO...

The Quality Assurance Specialist, reporting to Continuous Improvement Manager, is responsible for supporting an effective internal quality management system in order to meet the corporate standards/objectives, customer expectations and long-term sustainability goals of the plant and site installation areas. You will monitor processes and procedures to ensure compliance with established guidelines and support continuous improvement initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
    •Further develop and enhance the MAKR Quality Management System. •Maintain Controlled Document System, prepare and implement quality assurance policies and procedures. •Assist in company's wide process mapping sessions, documenting procedures and records following ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards. •Proactively report areas of non-conformances, identify the root cause, and assist in finding a preventive action plan. •Collect, review, and report on Cost Of Quality (COQ). Analyze the cost of conformance and non-conformance to optimize COQ. •Prepare and/or review documents, e.g. quality plans, inspections and test plans, procedures, SOPs, and checklist as they relate to the MAKR Quality Management Program. •Ensure certifications are maintained including calibrations of testing equipment at regular intervals as required by the manufacturer's instructions. •Ensure that all products are safe, effective, and meet quality requirements and intended purpose before releasing to the next phase in the plant, our site team, or clients. •Conduct planned audits and assist in performing Quality Control checks on incoming, outgoing, and finished products. •Identify and report on areas for continuous improvement, including quality KPI's. •Develop a culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance.

QUALIFICATIONS:
    •Post-secondary degree or diploma, preferably in Engineering (or related discipline). •Experience in a manufacturing environment (2-3 years' experience). •Proven knowledge of Quality Management System and relevant standards and principles. •Experience in quality assurance and audits. •Understanding of stainless-steel fabrication methods and reading blueprints. •Autodesk Inventor or equivalent Software is an asset.

OTHER INFORMATION:
    •This is an onsite position located in Kelowna, BC. (805 Crowley Ave, Kelowna, BC). •This position works Monday to Friday, 8-hour days.
