The Program/Services Specialist, Access & Flow, in collaboration with the Executive Director, Access, Flow & Transfer Services is responsible to lead the development and enhancement of strategic and regional operational patient flow plans that continuously improve and integrate the program vision and mandate into the practice and culture of the organization, while preserving alignment with quality systems and organizational strategic direction for excellence in care and service.
The Program/Service Specialist, Access & Flow liaises, educates and collaborates with departmental, organizational and provincial leaders, care and service providers, and members of the public to advance and execute the strategic plan and activities in alignment with organizational priorities. This includes developing departmental and corporate policies, procedures, guidelines and other resource documents that support optimal patient flow across local and regional programs, as well as program practice supports across the spectrum of care and service delivery, with a focus on timely patient flow, and provision of the right care in the right place, at the right time. The Senior Program Specialist, Access & Flow assesses systems care trends that could affect programs and the organization as a collective. This role will conduct impact analyses and develop strategies, business cases and plans to ensure the organization remains current and responsive to larger system influences that impact patient flow and quality care.

The Program/Services Specialist, Patient Flow assists the Executive Director to innovatively and continuously improve and evolve the core operations and mandate of the department and represents the program and Northern Health in provincial and local committees as appropriate. Sponsoring a regional approach to patient flow initiatives, as well as optimized transfers in care will be a cornerstone of this role.

Starting salary will be approximately from $88,990 to $111,237 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

Qualfications
• Bachelor's degree in a related health discipline such as Nursing, Allied Health, patient care/clinical related specialty, Business Administration or Health Administration
• A minimum of seven (7) years' experience in a related health care environment or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience including extensive experience in leading clinical practice, regional policy and/or practice development, including change management.

Skills and Abilities:
• Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive corporate and personnel information.
• Experience in planning, directing, and controlling projects.
• Demonstrated knowledge of program leading practice trends.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of partners with tact confidentiality and discretion.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a clinical team Change oriented and possesses an attitude of continuous improvement.
• Self-motivated, able to work with minimal direct supervision, and has a demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize workload in a self-directed manner.
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Proficiency with standard MS Office suite and advanced features of office computer applications such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio.
• Ability to coach, facilitate and lead others.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the job.
