Salary range (in British Columbia): $147,000 - $202,200
The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. What you can expect to do here:
Client-Centric Engagement:
- Build trust-based relationships with clients by delivering exceptional results and tailoring solutions to their unique challenges;
- Proactively identify opportunities to enhance client risk management capabilities through workshops and consultation.
Development and Innovation:
- Partner with internal teams to design and refine risk assessment tools, incorporating advanced statistical analysis and technologies to streamline processes and unlock new insights;
- Pilot innovative approaches and champion their integration into client-facing solutions.
Leadership and Collaboration:
- Mentor and lead junior risk specialists, fostering a culture of learning and growth and a professional environment of competence and accountability;
- Work alongside WSP's thought leaders to drive continuous improvement in risk services and share best practices across teams.
Driving Risk Management Excellence:
- Lead the development of tailored risk management frameworks for diverse projects, from complex underground developments to large-scale infrastructure works;
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and engineering teams to align methodologies with project-specific goals and challenges;
- Oversee Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) processes to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of risk assessments and deliverables.
Advanced Risk Assessment and Insight Generation:
- Conduct in-depth qualitative and quantitative risk studies using standard methods including HAZOP, FMEA, LOPA, FTA, ETA, cost and schedule risk assessment;
- Integration of the finding with in-house developed digital tools for enhancing risk data accessibility and providing decision support to clients.
- Leverage data-driven insights to refine traditional methodologies, embedding intelligence into risk workflows.
What you'll bring to WSP:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field; a Master's degree, or professional certification in risk assessment or a relevant discipline is highly desirable;
- 10-15 years of experience in technical risk assessment, risk workshop facilitation, project management, and collaboration with public and private sector;
- Expertise in standard quantitative and qualitative risk assessment methodologies, including HAZOP, FMEA, LOPA, fault tree analysis, and cost and schedule risk assessment;
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage risk on large, complex projects effectively;
- A passion for exploring and applying emerging technologies to co-create tools that redefine industry standards;
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly and facilitate alignment among diverse stakeholders.
