About the Opportunity

SICA is looking for a full-time Operations Manager based in Kelowna, BC.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the strategic and operational objectives of the organization by overseeing key areas such as Human Resources, Financial Goals, Communications, and Membership Services.

In this position, you will be primarily responsible for ensuring effective and efficient business operations, driving membership growth, and supporting both internal and external communications.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing the timely implementation of the annual operational plan and scheduled reporting
  • Leading and mentoring staff to ensure high job performance and fostering a positive team environment
  • Assisting in developing and monitoring the annual operations budget and maintaining financial stability
  • Creating and delivering outreach programs to schools from grades K to 12
  • Supporting communications efforts including member communication, Board and Committee communications, and external outreach
  • Developing proactive recruitment and retention plans to grow and maintain a healthy membership base
  • Ensuring compliance with provincial and federal laws, and overseeing administrative tasks to support smooth office operations
  • Preparing materials for Board meetings and other organizational activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

About You

To qualify, you will need a high school diploma and 5+ years of experience in business operations, administration, or other related roles, with exposure to the construction industry being an asset. You should also be actively working towards gaining progressive leadership experience in your career. You must have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • Proven ability to lead and mentor teams, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
  • Strong financial understanding for interpreting financial statements, managing cash flow, and presenting balanced budgets
  • Effective communication skills for engaging with diverse audiences, both internally and externally
  • Experience in human resources management, including staff training, development, and performance evaluation
  • Familiarity with membership-based organizations and business development strategies
  • Capability to manage and oversee multiple operational functions efficiently and effectively
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite and other relevant software tools
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally to meet business partners and address operational needs
