Position Summary

We currently have an exciting opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Laboratory department.
Under the general direction of the Chief Medical Technologist, obtains and prepares specimens for routine analysis. Performs various routine Hematological, Microbiological, Biochemical and Immunohematological testing in accordance with Departmental Procedures.
Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Days, Evenings - 06:30 to 15:00, 07:00 to 13:30, 08:00 to 16:30, 08:30 to 17:00, 09:30 to 18:00, 07:30 to 16:00, 14:30 to 23:00, Rotating
GR Baker Memorial Hospital is a full care hospital with 27 Acute Care beds, 4 ICU beds and 5 crisis stabilization beds.

• Full Emergency Medical Care
• Laboratory
• Diagnostic Imaging
• Pharmacy
• General Surgery
• Internal Medicine
• Otolaryngology (ENT)
• Community Cancer Care
• Physiotherapy
• Respiratory Therapy
• Environmental Health
• Speech and Language Therapy
• Visiting specialists in Cardiology, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Plastic Surgery, Urology and Ophthalmology
• Video conferencing for consultations with specialists or physicians in other areas.
• Home and Community Care and Home Support

Qualfications
• Graduate of an approved school of Medical Laboratory Technology and current Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science registration.
• One (1) year recent related experience.
• Experience in all the above disciplines preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Ability to deal with others effectively.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Ability to organize work.
• Ability to operate related equipment.
