Co-op and Internship opportunities allow you to gain valuable work experience across a number of the businesses at TD. The Market Risk team is responsible for the independent measurement, monitoring and challenge of enterprise wide market risk, liquidity risk, counterparty credit risk, as well as collateral management activities in support of TD's Risk Appetite. We have a global presence with teams in Toronto, Calgary, New York, Singapore, Dublin and London.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Market Risk Summer Associate Program is a four-month program that introduces risk management in capital markets. The Program consists of a single placement in one of the following areas:
  • Trading Market Risk, including measurements of Market Risk Capital
  • Non-Trading Market Risk
  • Liquidity Risk
  • Collateral Management
  • Counterparty Credit Risk Reporting
  • Governance and Control functions

Associates are a key talent pipeline for Market Risk, and Summer Associates will have the opportunity to secure a full-time role in the Market Risk Associate Program upon graduation. To support their career development, Associates have access to programming and tools including lunch and learns, workshops, mentoring and networking events.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Perform reporting and monitoring accurately and timely.
  • Investigate, escalate, and resolve exceptions in accordance with Risk policies.
  • Prepare analysis and commentary on the business and market drivers and present to management and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate and communicate with the team to meet deliverables and deadlines.
  • Investigate, escalate, and resolve operational issues as required.
  • Execute controls to mitigate operational risk.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis as required.
  • Foster respect, inclusion, and diversity.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree in a Business, Mathematics, or other relevant discipline
  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree with the intent of going back to school at of the start of your work term
  • Self-motivated to investigate and independently solve problems.
  • Ability to organize, analyze and understand large data sets.
  • Capability to summarize and communicate results and issues in a clear, concise and timely manner.
  • Capability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast paced and complex environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong desire to learn new things and develop an end to end understanding of processes.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team, with other teams and independently to meet business objectives.
  • Keen interest in the risk management field and capital markets.

  • This position is a 4-month work term and will commence May 1st - August 22nd, 2025 .
