Job Summary

The Team
At BC Timber Sales (BCTS) in the Stuart Nechako business area, you'll join an experienced team of about 50 dedicated forestry professionals. You'll work alongside roles like the Timber Sales Manager, Operations Manager, and Indigenous Relations Liaison to ensure that BC's public timber is managed responsibly, benefiting local ecosystems and communities. The Role
The Woodlands Supervisor (Sales) will lead the sales team by example, fostering working relationships with internal and external partners to administer a rolling 12-month sales schedule through sound management of multiphase contracts. Ensuring legislative compliance, good stewardship, and timely deliverables, the Woodlands Supervisor (Sales) will finalize timber sale packages for auction and support other teams to achieve business area goals and objectives. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • A Registered Professional Forester (RPF) or be eligible for registration as an RPF with Forest Professionals BC (FPBC) andthree (3)years of experience in operational forestry such as forest tenures, cut-block and road development, engineering, silviculture, harvest operations or compliance and enforcement.
  • Must possess at minimum a valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence that does not limit or restrict the ability to conduct the duties of the job.

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:
  • A Registered Professional Forester (RPF) or be eligible for registration as an RPF with Forest Professionals BC (FPBC) andfour (4)years of experience in operational forestry such as forest tenures, cut-block and road development, engineering, silviculture, harvest operations or compliance and enforcement.
  • Six (6) or more months of experience supervising, leading, and mentoring staff.

About this Position:
This position can be based out of either of the locations listed above.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill temporary and permanent vacancies within the BC Timber Sales Stuart-Nechako Business Area, Fort St James or Vanderhoof.
