Job Description

Cohen Buchan Edward LLP is a full service law firm that has provided legal services in the lower mainland for over 45 years. We are a boutique law firm located in Richmond, BC with an additional office in South Surrey.

We are looking for a full time Legal Assistant in the litigation department, for the Richmond BC office. The position is to cover a maternity leave, with the possibility of continuing beyond the return from mat leave. We provide a work life balance work environment.

What are we looking for:

Work from the Richmond, BC Canada office
5 years experience working on civil and family litigation files
Provided comprehensive support for litigation lawyers
Act as liaison between clients, lawyers and other support staff
Familiar with the BC provincial court and Supreme Court procedures
Keep calendars current with due dates
Draft court documents, prepare for hearings and trials
Prepare and follow up with clients regarding retainers and payments
Ability to prioritize work, with outstanding organizational skills
Ability to follow office policies and procedures
Excellent English communication, writing and oral, skills
Team player working well with all positions within the office.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, One Note and Teams
Experience with ESI360
Ability to work Monday - Friday

What we provide:

We provide a competitive salary range $60,000 - $66,000, plus extended and dental health benefits, plus matching RRSP.
