Job Description

A small but growing family oriented landscape construction company focused on providing superior results and customer service as well as providing a growth environment and opportunities for team personal growth.

The Landscape construction crew is responsible for a variety of job tasks in order to assist with the completion of landscape construction projects.

Job responsibilities include utilizing various hand tools, power tools, and equipment to carry out specific job
duties and physical labor. 

This position requires a person who is physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs+ multiple times a day.

Bucks With Trucks has a priority focus on projects that include wooden and precast retaining walls, fencing and pavers. We also incorporate decks, natural stone, pools, concrete work and soft scape landscaping for residential projects.

Job Duties: May include (but not limited to)

  • Responsible for hardscape and softscape landscape construction. (mainly Hardscape)
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to assist with landscape constructions.
  • Complete and assist projects that include wooden and precast retaining walls, fencing, pavers.
  • Cart and spread topsoil and other required materials.
  • Lay sod or seed; grading (soil); and tree staking.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and other necessary equipment to complete job tasks.
  • Move and transport materials using shovels, wheelbarrows, carts, dollies and manual lifting.
  • Perform other manual duties to clean and maintain landscaped environments , shop + equipment.
  • Conduct daily safety inspections of tools and equipment.
  • Follow directions from foreman.
  • Complete daily light paperwork tracking job time and material costs. (supervisory roles)
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.
  • Comply with all company policies and regulations.
  • Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations.
  • Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 years’ experience in the landscape construction industry or similar experiences with transferable skills.
  • Physically fit with stamina.
  • Basic measurement and calculation skills.
  • Ability to follow safe working procedures.
  • Excellent observation skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team
  • Speak, read, and write English.
  • Must be able to complete required training online as well as onsite.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and your own vehicle. (preferred)
  • Competent in the use of power tools. (quick cut saws, chain saws, plate tampers, power wheelbarrows, skills saws, sod cutter, sprayer or duster, rototiller, drills, etc.) (preferred)
  • Ability and skill to operate equipment such as mini-excavators, skid steers, power wheel barrows, and more. (preferred)

Work Conditions:

  • Job requires ability to work with hand tools, small engine equipment, and materials.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly through an entire work shift.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Requires good manual dexterity.
  • Excellent stamina is required.
  • Work near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis.
  • Work outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold.

Job Type:

  • Full-time
  • Pay: $24.00-$32.00 per hour

Benefits:

  • Automobile allowance

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime
  • Weekends as needed

Supplemental pay types:

  • Overtime pay
  • Bonuses for certain roles

Ability to commute:

  • Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Pitt Meadows, Port Moody, Burnaby, Maple Ridge, Vancouver

Experience:

  • Landscape Construction: 1 year (required) or transferable skills

Language:

  • English (Required)

License/Certification:

  • Class 5 Licence (preferred)
