Hydrogeological work may include:
- Conducting site investigations, such as:
o Installing monitoring wells, pumping wells, and vibrating wire piezometers;
o Groundwater sampling;
o Undertaking hydrogeological test work (slug tests, pumping tests, infiltration testing and packer testing). - Data compilation, analysis and interpretation;
- Collecting hydrogeological, contaminant and geotechnical information from drilling operations;
- Reporting to support hydrogeological characterization, water supply assessments, water management, contaminated sites assessments, infrastructure studies, mining and environmental impact assessments;
- Analysis associated with slug and pumping tests, estimates of groundwater seepage and inflows, and contaminated flow and transport;
- We place a strong emphasis on developing practical solutions to meet our Client's needs, and preference will be given to individuals with excellent communication and interpersonal skills in addition to strong technical competence and reporting.
What you can expect to do here:
- You are a champion for Health & Safety - this is always your top priority, as it is ours;
- You will be organizing and executing a wide variety of fieldwork associated with hydrogeological projects, including groundwater site characterization and investigations, groundwater sampling, drilling oversight, well design and installation and pumping of supply wells, and you will be responsible for maintaining data quality, interpretation and reporting as required;
- You will travel and participate in both local and remote fieldwork as well as rotational field programs on occasion, primarily within western and northern Canada and have the ability and flexibility to adapt to unpredictable and/or inclement field conditions and changing schedules;
- You will bring quantitative skills, resourcefulness, and attention to detail as well as an understanding of the principles of hydrogeology;

What you'll bring to WSP:

- You have a Masters or Bachelor's degree in Geology/Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering, Geosciences, or related discipline with demonstrated course work or a thesis in physical and contaminant hydrogeology;
- You have 1 to 5 years relevant hydrogeology experience.
- You are eligible to be registered as a Geoscientist in Training or Engineer in Training with EGBC;
- You have excellent English (verbal /written) communication skills;
- You have solid organizational skills (prioritization, time management, record keeping, follow up, tracking);
- You know your way around the MS Office suite of products;
- You've got BC drivers license, a clean Driver's Abstract, and are willing to travel. You enjoy field work, and are comfortable driving in remote and off-road settings;
- Your experience in the practical application of numerical groundwater modelling programs is considered an asset.
