Job Description

The Department of Studies in Women and Gender at VIU is seeking a sessional instructor to teach one section of SWAG 103 (Care of Self: Feminism and Wellbeing) in the Spring 2025 semester running from January to April.

This course will be taught online asynchronously.

Required Qualifications:

PhD or ABD in a related discipline OR a Master's level Counselling credential from an appropriately accredited institution.
Evidence of expertise in feminism or gender studies within educational background or professional practice.
Evidence of knowledge and practice related to critical strategies for self-care, self-compassion, and harm reduction.
Evidence of commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and decolonization.

Salary Infromation:

$8,196.30 per assigned course consisting of three workload hours. The rate for any courses requiring fewer or greater hours shall be prorated based on this standard.
