Organizational Profile
The District of West Vancouver (the District) is located on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation), səl̓ílwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh Nation), and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam Nation). About the Role
Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, the Human Resources Advisor will be responsible for providing consultation and advice to managers and staff on a wide range of human resource programs, processes, initiatives and labour relations matters, ensuring that practices are consistent and comply with legislation, collective agreements, administrative regulations, policies and procedures, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, managers, bargaining agents, and external contacts, and interacting in a manner that builds trust, credibility, and rapport, coordinating, guiding, and participating in the recruitment and selection process; and participating in other duties and special projects as assigned.
This is an incredible opportunity for a professional who is curious by nature with a solution-oriented approach to labour relations, and interest to proactively build relationships in a municipal government multi-unionized setting. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Human Resources or a related field and have experience in all functional areas of HR in a unionized environment. A CPHR designation would be an asset with a high proficiency in written and verbal communication. The preferred candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and anticipate potential issues.
The annual salary for this position is $91,600 - $108,800, based on a 35-hour work week. The District offers an optional compressed workweek and excellent benefit and pension plans. The successful candidate will be required to supply an acceptable police information check and a copy of their credentials. A personal vehicle and a valid BC Driver’s License are required.
