Job Description
Osanis Counselling and Consulting Inc. is a CARF accredited growing social services organization that is constantly looking for qualified home share providers. Our clients are 19 years and older individuals with a wide range of abilities and levels of independence.
Home share services are funded by the provincial government through Community Living British Columbia.
Home sharing is a highly personally rewarding lifestyle and financially worthwhile endeavor that creates opportunities for long-lasting and meaningful relationships.
Under certain conditions, a home share provider can have more than one client living in their home.
Home share providers would be individuals from all walks of life, ethnic backgrounds, place of origin, cultural and faith-based backgrounds, as well as other social constructs associated with gender, sexual orientation, marital status, age, socio-economic status, and others.
Home share providers would be individuals who live alone, live with a partner with or without children, or live with relatives.
Home share providers would have a suitable lifestyle and place of residence that can be offered to an individual for the individual to live in the home share providers’ home. Home share providers can live in an apartment, town house, or single family home. The home share provider’s home can be in a city or rural area.
Home share providers would be individuals knowledgeable of the issues and challenges associated with adults living with wide range of abilities and levels of independence.
Osanis strives to ensure that the home environment that the home share provider offers best matches the individual’s needs and expectations.
Home share providers recruitment process includes application, interviews, references, home study, home inspection, and the submission of all relevant paperwork.
Home share providers responsibilities center around offering support to the individual that may include provision of/or assistance to various degrees of involvement with the following: personal grooming; meal preparation; transportation; shopping for groceries, clothing, and personal needs; medication monitoring or management; general household duties such as laundry and cleaning; money management; health care; leisure and recreation activities; community inclusion; socialization; goal setting and implementation.
Home share providers need to meet these basic requirements: first aid certificate; clear criminal record check; medical Clearance; suitability assessment of the home; $2,000,000 liability insurance.
Contract includes monthly professional fee plus room and board contributions paid by the individual. Professional monthly fees vary according to the individual’s level of independence and need for support.
