WSP is currently seeking a highly motivated Geotechnical Engineering Student to join our Ground Engineering and Materials Team based in Kelowna, BC for 8 month work term. You will join our highly successful team, using your skills to assist in the execution of various high-profile and critical projects throughout BC Interior.

Salary range (in British Columbia): $24 - $31,75
The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. What you can expect to do here:
- Carry out field and laboratory work related to soil, concrete, and asphalt testing including summarizing test results
- Perform geotechnical investigations for buildings, highways, bridges, retaining walls, slope stability, and municipal infrastructure;
- Coordinate and carry out field review of supervising drill rigs and/or excavators, logging boreholes and soil sampling, construction works and geotechnical material testing;
- Assist senior team in preparing proposals and technical reports;
- Conduct geotechnical engineering analysis.
What you'll bring to WSP:
- Undertaking an undergraduate or graduate degree in Civil/Geotechnical/Geological Engineering or a geoscience program;
- Preference for previous experience in Geo-engineering field in Canada (not essential).
- Valid Canadian Driver's License;
- Interest in working in remote worksites including forestry, mining, or other industrial applications, over several days;
- Interest in the geotechnical and/or geological field;
- Ability to work well with senior direction, meet deadlines and cooperate with a team in various environment.
