Reporting to the Vice President, Medicine, and in accordance with the established vision, mission and values of the organization, the Executive Director, Medical Affairs (the ED) is the executive lead for Northern Health's strategy and operations in Medical Affairs, including Governance and Administration, Physician Contracts, and Medical Staff Quality, Engagement, and Education. The ED is accountable for the administration and integration of all aspects of the portfolio, consistent with the clinical directions of NH. Working collaboratively with the Senior Medical Leadership Team and key stakeholders, providing leadership, consultation and influence for Medical Affairs, Medical Staff Credentialing, Privileging, Physician Contracts, and Medical Staff Relations for NH, the ED develops, implements, and evaluates strategic and operational plans and Medical Staff structures. The ED represents NH Medical Affairs on a variety of internal and external committees, including the Provincial Medical Services Executive Council (PMSEC), the Provincial Working Group for Physician Compensation, and the NH Workforce Sustainability Steering Committee. On behalf of PMSEC, the role co- represents PMSEC at the Provincial Health Human Resources Coordination Centre.
Starting salary will be approximately from $155,327 to $194,159 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

Qualfications
• Master's Degree in a related discipline such as Health Care Administration or Business Administration.
• Ten (10) years related senior management experience.
• Leadership experience in large health care organizations with increasing responsibility including strategic planning, complex negotiations, budgeting, and systems design and development is required.
Skills and Abilities:
• Comprehensive knowledge of current BC Healthcare policies, funding practices, and relevant Federal and Provincial Health Statutes.
• In-depth knowledge of current healthcare trends, issues and government directives and understanding within the context of the Northern Health Authority.
• Demonstrated business and political acumen to lead complex organizational change issues.
• Proven verbal and written communication and presentation skills at an Executive level.
• Expert ability to foster a collaborative team approach to decision-making.
• Advanced capability to influence, unify, energize, and motivate people.
• Considerable capacity to promote, adapt to, manage, and lead ongoing change.
• Demonstrated skills in budgetary management and information analysis.
• Project management expertise.
• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of systems thinking, utilization management, and medical governance.
• Proficient use of office software applications as effective tools in the role of an Executive.
