Located on the unceded traditional territories of the Coast Salish Peoples, Douglas College (the College) is the largest degree-granting college in British Columbia. With two main campuses and three training centres in the Metro Vancouver area, the College is one of the province’s most vibrant leaders in post-secondary education. Douglas College will add 808 Royal in 2027, a new building dedicated to both student housing and academic space. The College’s approximately 2,000 employees instruct and serve more than 25,000 students each year, including over 3,000 international students from 90 countries. About the Role
Reporting to the Associate Vice President, International Education, the Director of Global Engagement and International Student Services provides leadership and operational management for Douglas College’s international student services and internationalization goals. The Director is responsible for services provided by Douglas College International to its international students, international projects and programs, international engagement, student mobility, and assisting the Associate Vice President, International Education with inter-institutional partnerships. As part of the International leadership team, the incumbent is the champion for identifying and developing new strategies and opportunities to successfully engage departments, faculty, and domestic as well as international students in all phases of the international teaching or learning experience. The Director works closely with Deans and Directors at Douglas College along with international partner institutions, the Consular Corps of B.C. and other organizations to advance the growth and quality of international engagement at the College.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate, energetic, and innovative international student services leader with deep knowledge of post-secondary global engagement best practices and opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a graduate degree combined with a minimum of seven (7) years of experience including at least five (5) years of internationalization experience in the Post-Secondary Education sector. The preferred candidate will have strong interpersonal, communication, and project management skills, including direct experience implementing international agreements and relevant services. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
The salary range for this position is $118,853 - $182,241 annually depending on the successful candidate’s experience, education, and proficiency in relation to the position.
