Reporting to the Lead, Lifting Standards the Crane Operator Journeyperson is responsible for operating cranes to lift, move, position, and place machinery, equipment, and other large objects at the mine site. This role requires precision, safety awareness, and adherence to operational protocols to ensure efficient and safe handling of materials.

Reporting to the Lead, Lifting Standards the Crane Operator Journeyperson is responsible for operating cranes to lift, move, position, and place machinery, equipment, and other large objects at the mine site. This role requires precision, safety awareness, and adherence to operational protocols to ensure efficient and safe handling of materials.
Responsibilities
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Safely operate various types of mobile cranes
- Secure loads properly and ensure they are balanced and stable during lifting and moving operations.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on cranes and report any mechanical issues to the maintenance team.
- Work closely with ground crew and other operators to coordinate lifting and moving activities.
- Maintain accurate records of crane operations, including load weights, distances moved, and any incidents or near-misses.
Qualifications
- Valid Interprovincial Journeyperson Crane Operator Red Seal trade qualification Minimum of 3-5 years of experience operating cranes in an industrial or mining environment.
- Strong understanding of crane operations, load dynamics, and safety procedures. Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing for long periods, lifting heavy objects, and working in various weather conditions.
