As a Coordinator/Learning Specialist with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:

  • Assist with the coordination and management of the VCH Regional Staffing Service and is one of four primary System Administrators for the Kronos Workforce scheduling system.
  • Be responsible for investigating and determining customer service needs, dealing with difficult staffing requests, facilitating resolution to staffing problems and planning and developing strategies to close the gap between resource availability and resource needs.
  • Develop procedures and processes for the system administration to ensure timely and effective delivery of services within own portfolio and coordinate teamwork between System Administrators for Kronos ESP/WTK and Peoplesoft, and with IMIS support staff for interfaces.
  • Be responsible for ensuring data integrity and quality and for monitoring error reports.
  • Provide supervision, direction and guidance to the Portfolio Clerks, Staffing Clerks and Timekeepers.
  • Provide Operational training to all users of the Kronos Workforce system
Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Recognized degree in a related field plus five (5) years’ recent, related experience in a large, acute care environment including experience with automated staffing/scheduling systems or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience including supervision and orientation of staff.
  • Previous experience in recruitment and/or human resources would be an asset.

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Possesses a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare setting and healthcare professions within the designated portfolio area.
  • Communicates in a manner that is clear and understandable both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrates a strong customer-service orientation and ability to understand and translate customer needs into action.
  • Skilfully analyzes and explains complex and detailed information including collective agreement provisions, professional standards and varied organizational policies and procedures.
  • Applies excellent time management and multi-tasking skills to prioritize and complete assignments and schedule activities in a manner that optimizes effectiveness and contributes to team success.
  • Fosters collaborative and effective working relationships with stakeholders that promote cooperative goals and contribute to an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy with standard desktop word-processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software.
