Position Summary

Under the direction of the Team Leader of Community Mental Health and Addiction Services for the Northern Health Authority, Burns Lake Area this position provides services to individuals living with serious mental illnesses, addictions issues or dual diagnosis. Design, implements, and monitors individual patient plans to maximize community functioning and reduce re-hospitalization. Works as a member of a multi-disciplinary community mental health and addictions team, acts as a consultant educator in the area of mental health and addictions and contributes to the development of community mental health and addictions programs.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work:: Tues, Weds, Thurs, Days, 08:00 to 16:00

Burns Lake is located in the heart of the Lakes District, an area boasting over 4800 kilometers of lake shoreline. The village has a diverse population of 2,000 residents and serves a surrounding area of approximately 13,000 residents of the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako. With two of the six local First Nations communities located within municipal boundaries, Burns Lake has a strong sense of culture and incredible local talents to showcase. Housing in Burns Lake is very affordable, including lakefront property! There are two K-7 schools, a K-9, a 8-12 and a 10-12 public school within the Lakes District area. Additionally, there are two Independent Mennonite schools and one College of New Caledonia campus within the community. It is centrally located between Smithers (1.5 hrs) and Prince George (2.5 hours) for ease of access to airports VIA Rail serves Burns Lake year round and stops right in the centre of Burns Lake's downtown core. Qualfications
• Bachelor's Degree in Social Work with three (3) years experience in related service area.
• Current registration with the British Columbia College of Social Workers.
• Dual diagnosis training is an asset.
• Valid BC drivers license, with access to a vehicle.
• Travel may be required, and you may be required to use own vehicle on NHA business.
