Job type: Casual (Casual is defined as on call with no guaranteed hours. Shifts can be called out via short call (1-5 hours of notice) or pre-booked).
Wage: $24.34 per hour + 13% in lieu
Location: Lions Gate Hospital - 231 15th St E, North Vancouver, BC V7L 2R3
Hours of work: 08:00-16:00, 15:00-23:00, rotating, Monday-Friday

Are you a highly organized person with strong administrative skills? Under the direction of the Manager, Office Support Services provides pick-up and delivery of in-coming, out-going and interdepartmental mail throughout the Hospital.
What you'll do
- Provide pick-up and delivery of in-coming, outgoing and interdepartmental mail and messages, including confidential mail, throughout the Hospital.
- Deliver outside mail to departments within the Hospital.
- Deliver medication, blood bags and chemotherapy bags to wards from Pharmacy.
- Deliver lab specimens from wards to Laboratory.
- Sort incoming mail.
- File in Doctors' boxes.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What you bring
Qualifications
- Grade 12 or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Skills & Knowledge
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
- As a strong asset for consideration, we are looking for our successful candidate to have: Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities of settler colonialism on Indigenous Peoples and familiarity with addressing Indigenous-specific anti-racism, anti-racism and Indigenous Cultural Safety and foundational documents and legislative commitments (The Declaration Act, the Declaration Action Plan, TRC, IPS, Remembering Keegan, etc.).
