Job Description
A Vancouver based non-profit, we know that people living with mental challenges can thrive in our communities if they are given the right resources: housing, support services and employment and education opportunities. Our approach is client-focused and community-based. The people we serve – our clients – take the lead in their recovery, working side-by-side with Coast’s team to set goals and decide which services and programs will best help them meet these goals. They also play a key role in the overall success of the organization, whether as peer support workers, members and volunteers at our Clubhouse or Resource Centre, or part of our governance board or Planning & Partnership committee.
Together, every day we prove that recovery from serious mental illness is possible.
About the RoleReporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) has strategic and operational responsibility for Coast Mental Health’s programs and services, Information Technology/Information Management (IT/IM) and Quality Improvement and Properties areas. The COO spearheads the organization’s strategic planning process, provides operational leadership to the senior management team and serves as a liaison to external stakeholders and partners. The COO works in collaboration with the CEO and the Board of Directors, to ensure that the Board and senior management team are aware and engaged in Coast’s strategies, opportunities and challenges.
In partnership with the senior management team (including the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) the COO is responsible for developing, implementing and managing the operational aspects of Coast Mental Health. In addition to the COO’s key oversight of internal operational excellence, the COO may be called upon to assist with funder relationship building, stakeholder engagement and other duties, as required.
This is an incredible opportunity for an experienced professional who has a minimum of ten (10) years senior management experience, ideally in a complex unionized environment. Experience in health care or non-profit is preferred. The ideal candidate will have a graduate degree (MBA, MA, MHA) or an equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable to Coast.
The salary for this position is $151,806 - $189,757 - $227,709 (min – mid – max). The Pay Range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full time equivalent hours. Incumbents are typically hired between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in relation to the role requirements.
