Reporting to the Director, Pulp IT, you'll will support, improve, and implement manufacturing systems at Canfor. You'll partner with Canfor Pulp and other business units in the delivery and continued support of Canfor manufacturing systems. The current suite of systems includes an Enterprise Asset Management System - Synergen (Oracle Utilities Work and Asset Management), a Manufacturing Execution System (Elixir), a data historian (IP.21), a data warehouse, and others.

The salary range for this position is: $80,000.00-$100,000.00

A day in the life of the Business Systems Analyst includes:
Analysis, Solution Definition and Support
- Support, maintain and enhance Canfor Pulp business applications to assure their availability, reliability, and performance.
- Effectively resolve production problems in a timely manner.
- Monitor, troubleshoot and respond to support requests for systems supported and ensure all service level agreements are adhered to.
- Work closely with system vendors and internal resources to analyze and troubleshoot issues, provide recommendations for resolution. Follow the fix through to testing and production implementation.
- Collaborate with users from the Canfor Pulp business unit to analyze and develop clear business requirements and lead projects to deliver enhancements to existing systems or to deliver net new applications
- Use influence to guide Operations in extracting value and insight from systems.
- Participate in efforts to:
- Establish system roadmaps
- Consolidate and eliminate systems where possible
- Assist in developing governance guidelines for each system
- Present information via reporting and dashboarding systems
- As part of the change management process test and confirm solution readiness by developing test plans, coordinating user testing, executing to the plan, documenting progress, and working with vendors and internal resources to correct issues identified.
- Provide regular reporting regarding system support activities, service Level agreement tracking and other reporting as requested.
Project Delivery
- Provide the necessary analyses, requirements gathering and project management oversight to deliver projects on time and on budget.
- Accountable for effectively planning project-related activities.
- Provide input into the development of capital and operating budgets.
- Ensure current and accurate system documentation, and develop, provide, or coordinate system training, educational tools and materials including knowledge base articles for systems supported
For this role, you'll come equipped with:
- University degree (Business, Management Information Systems or Computer Science) from a recognized university and/or technical diploma with systems and business experience.
- 5 years experience in supporting, implementing and optimizing business systems either directly through systems support or indirectly through service desk / help desk involvement or other systems support activities.
- Proven capability to accurately prepare written business correspondence that is coherent, grammatically correct, effective, professional, and engaging.
- Experience or familiarity with Pulp manufacturing operations is desired.
- Experience with the following systems is preferred:
- Oracle Utilities Work and Asset Management (Synergen), Elixir, IP.21, Data Warehouse
- Oracle and SQL Server databases and toolsets (PL/SQL, TOAD, etc.)
- Reporting and BI toolsets (Crystal Reports, Power BI)
- Cloud and mobile technologies
- Power Apps
- Organized and able to manage multiple and shifting priorities.
