Reporting to the Senior Business Advisor, Digital Systems, the Business Analyst, Performance Team will play a vital role in Performance Management to ensure the effective design, execution, and governance of Teck's Performance Management Structures that align with business strategy and leadership priorities.

This outstanding individual will drive data-driven decision-making by designing, implementing, supervising and improving performance management processes, developing performance reports, automating reporting processes, and providing strategic insights. As a structured business thinker with a strong operational background, the Business Analyst balances technical expertise with a deep understanding of business processes. In this role, you will also lead business-as-usual (BAU) operations, supporting continuous improvement and providing mentorship to Performance Coordinators and co-op students.

Responsibilities

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Design, develop, and deploy Performance Management Structures, ensuring alignment with business objectives
  • Plan, structure, and supervise Performance Management Routines, ensuring consistency in execution and delivery of key performance outcomes
  • Develop and lead performance reporting processes, ensuring data collected, measured, and aligned with audience-specific business outcomes
  • Guide the automation of performance reporting, collaborating with technical teams to enhance data accessibility and visualization.
  • Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify key insights, trends, and performance gaps to drive informed decision-making
  • Facilitate multi-functional collaboration to ensure performance metrics and reports are in alignment with our business and leadership expectations
  • Handle business-as-usual (BAU) operational routines, ensuring sustainability and efficiency of deployed processes
  • Mentor and develop our Performance Coordinators and co-op students, to cultivate a high-performing team culture
  • Analyze, model, and optimize data-driven processes to support the continuous improvement of any operations
  • Develop training materials and conduct workshops on Performance Management methodologies and reporting automation
  • Support process standardization and governance to ensure continuous improvement in performance routines and reporting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; MBA is preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in Performance Management, Business Analysis, or Business Operations
  • Exceptional ability to translate complex data into both actionable business and executive-level insights
  • Confirmed background in data automation and process optimization initiatives
  • Expertise with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and partner engagement skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership
  • Deep experience with Performance Management Routines, including planning, facilitating, execution, and governance
  • Experience with data analytics, modeling, and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python) would be an asset
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment
  • Ability to drive business as usual operations while implementing long-term improvements
  • Strong analytical demeanour with experience in data modeling and performance measurement
  • Strong partner engagement and facilitation skills
  • Strong bias for action, ensuring operational priorities are met efficiently
  • Ability to guide, mentor and develop junior team members to foster a culture of learning and excellence
  • Comfortable facilitating and leading change initiatives, workshops and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Certifications in any of the following are preferred: Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM), Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or a Certification in Data Analytics (e.g., Google, Microsoft, or Coursera programs)
