About the BCLDB:
The BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) is one of two branches of government that provide oversight for the beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis industries in the province. The LDB is responsible for the wholesale distribution of liquor and cannabis, and operates the retails brands BCLIQUOR and BC Cannabis Stores.

The BC Liquor Distribution Branch Wholesale Operations division is the hub of beverage alcohol distribution in British Columbia. There are three business units; Wholesale Supply Chain, Pricing & Imports and Distribution, working in partnership with suppliers to maintain a resilient and responsive supply chain whilst focusing on exceeding our customers' expectations, and giving back to the communities, we serve. Our stakeholders comprise approximately 1200 Agents & suppliers, over 800 retail outlets and 9000 licensed establishments. The Wholesale division's ethos of continuous improvement through innovative strategies, unmatched relationships and talented teams makes this a vibrant and stimulating environment in which to keep developing your expertise and knowledge.
About this role:
This position is accountable for leading the assembly team of over 400 employees across all shifts, while providing senior manager oversight to the day shift. Prime responsibilities include leading teams to motivate them towards achieving department and organizational goals, including professional development, coaching and mentoring of direct reports, developing and recommending operating and capital budget and monitoring spend. The position will work closely with other senior leaders within the distribution department to plan and execute department accountabilities, and build collaborative relationships with support departments such as Labour Relations, Finance, Information Technology, Supply Chain etc.
The Senior Manager, Assembly Operations will lead continuous improvement initiatives linked to strategic objectives and will ensure key performance indicators are achieved while maintaining and developing an environment where consistent high standards of safety, accuracy and efficiency are achieved by implementing best practices inherent in all aspects of this position including policy, standard operating procedures and safety training.
A criminal record check is required.
Work occurs in a multi-shift facility. The successful candidate must have the ability to travel occasionally, sometimes overnight.

Education and Experience:
- Secondary (high) school diploma or equivalent certificate.
- A minimum of 5 years recent, related work experience* working within a warehouse environment.
- A minimum of 3 years recent, related work experience* in a leadership position in a fast paced, high volume distribution centre.
*Recent, related work experience must have occurred in the last 10 years and include:
- Direct management of a team of at least 100 staff.
- Working with a warehouse management system (WMS).
Preference may be given to those candidates with any of the following:
- Degree/Diploma in business administration, operations management, or related.
- Experience working in a unionized environment.
