Job Description

12-month term contract PHP/nodeJS developer role with a purpose driven organization helping to make the world a better place.

Permanent software developer role, PHP and nodeJS

Hybrid work available with 2 days a week in office in Vancouver.

What & Why:
As a result of investment in technology, our client is looking to add 2 term contractor developers to their team to help with migrations of various parts of business logic from one tech stack (Laravel) to another tech stack (node.js) whilst maintain functionality and stability of the legacy code during migrations. You are a skilled Back-End Software Developer with strong experience in PHP frameworks and Node.js and have a deep understanding of server-side technologies and a proven track record of developing scalable, high-performance applications. This is a great time to join this organization as they experience very high growth globally.

Who:
This purpose driven organization and their small but mighty team has a goal of creating meaningful impact for the planet, nature and people. They are looking to grow, primarily in the tech space over the next 12 months. They have a strong culture as well as a strong client list. They are located in East Vancouver and are in two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. This is a 12 month term contract, you would be on the organizations payroll and eligible for vacation and benefits through them.

You:
You will bring the following education, skills and experience to the role:

Proven experience as a Back-End Developer
Strong knowledge of PHP and experience with at least one PHP framework (e.g., Laravel, Symfony, Zend).
Proficiency in Node.js and frameworks available for it (e.g., Express, Fastify).
Extensive experience with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
Proficiency working with ORMs (Eloquent, Sequelize, etc.).
Understanding of RESTful API design and implementation.
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.

Compensation: this role pays between $105-125K per annum
