Overview

Want to use your expertise to connect to an IT career with a difference? As an area office support analyst with WorkSafeBC, you'll do just that. Using leading-edge technology, you'll help connect British Columbians to healthy and safe workplaces - providing support for injury prevention programs, rehabilitation services, workplace insurance, and strong health and safety cultures.

In this role, you'll be responsible for supporting area office end users in their use of technical services by resolving tier 2 issues with user applications and provide consultation to end users when needed. You'll leverage your strong technical support experience to analyze and resolve issues related to Microsoft technologies and applications, video conferencing, mobile device and print system technologies. You'll also partner up with cross-functional IT teams to develop project scope and plans for a wide variety of applications to establish minimal standards for effective use of end user products.

Where you'll work

At WorkSafeBC, we offer a model that combines the convenience of some remote workwith the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.

In this role, you'll work three or more days a week in our Richmond office.

The analyst will be required to travel to WorkSafeBC offices located in the lower mainland, Fraser valley and other BC offices as and when required.

What you'll do

As an area office support analyst you will:
  • Provide day-to-day technical support services to end users to resolve technical problems such as hardware, software or other application issues
  • Support tier 3 teams on deployments of new infrastructure hardware and network
  • Liaise with all levels of IT to discuss proposed improvements to client resources and evaluate alternate systems
  • Write and maintain documentation of products and their use within the end user environment
  • Facilitate training sessions to enable users to utilize and maximize internal products and new systems as they are implemented

  • Communicate effectively with various technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Prioritize multiple and concurrent technical issues and user service requests to ensure satisfactory service levels for clients
  • Think critically to resolve complex technical problems in a timely manner to ensure smooth business operations
  • Research new technologies and software packages for specific projects
  • Can travel within BC to various office locations

Your experience and educational background:
  • Degree in Information Technology or IT related discipline
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical support or end user support environment
  • Experience in providing tier 2 technical support in an enterprise environment
  • Experience in networking technologies
  • Experience in resolving technical issues in a fast-paced environment

An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Salary: $41.55-$44.87/hourly
