Job Summary
The Team
The Aboriginal Policy and Practice (APP) Branch in MCFD's Partnership and Indigenous Engagement Division is a dedicated team focused on integrating the Aboriginal Policy and Practice Framework (APPF) across the ministry and among partners. Since its establishment in 2017, the branch has grown into a team of 12 members, bringing together Indigenous and diverse cultural perspectives. Organized into two teams (Provincial Initiatives and Service Delivery Support), the APP Branch leads APPF integration at both provincial and service delivery levels, including partnering with Indigenous Child & Family Service Agencies (ICFSAs) and service providers.
The Role
The APP Program Analyst plays a key role in integrating the APPF to support positive outcomes for Indigenous children, youth, families, and communities. This role involves developing integration and reconciliation plans, supporting staff to foster strong relationships with Indigenous communities, and building partnerships across MCFD and with service providers. Through this work, the Program Analyst helps influence practices that drive meaningful improvements in the lives of those served.

About this Position:
There is one permanent position and two (2) temporary opportunities - one to September 26, 2025 and the other to April 30, 2025.
These temporary opportunity end dates may change, be extended OR permanent appointments may result from the temporary appointments.
An eligibility list may be established for future permanent and temporary vacancies.
Temporary postings are not limited to the geographic area. Board and lodging and relocation expenses do not apply.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in social sciences plus two (2) years related experience; OR,
- An equivalent combination of education and/or related experience totalling six (6) years.
Related experience includes a minimum of two (2) years experience in each of the following:
- Providing direct services to Indigenous Peoples and/or communities;
- Facilitating and/or leading change across multiple organizations;
- Supporting and facilitating cultural competency training and development;
- Experience working with child and family services with the ministry, Indigenous Child and Family Service Agencies or other child and family focused services;
- Experience working with Indigenous communities;
- Experience and/or education related to cultural awareness and competence;
- Experience in negotiation, mediation, and/or conflict resolution processes;
- Experience managing multiple projects and assignments;
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Preference may be given to:
- Applicants who self-identify as First Nations, Métis, or Inuit with the required combination of education and experience.
Provisos:
- Must be willing to work evenings/weekends.
- Must be willing to travel. Transportation must meet ministry operational requirements.
