Job Summary
The Team
The Corporate Wildfire Services team at the Southeast Fire Centre plays a vital role in ensuring smooth financial and administrative operations across the region. From overseeing the processing of invoices to handling HR support for approximately 325 Auxiliary and 75 Full Time regular staff, this collaborative team works behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly. With a mix of experienced professionals and newer members, they excel in teamwork, problem-solving, and delivering timely, accurate results. Their work impacts everyone, from vendors to staff, ensuring payments are made, contracts are managed, and HR processes are seamless, creating a positive ripple effect across the fire centre.
The Role
The Wildfire Corporate Services Administrator is an essential link that keeps the unit running smoothly, adapting to the dynamic needs of each season, including onboarding and training in the spring, ensuring timely payroll and vendor payments in the summer, managing offboarding and hiring in the fall, and preparing for the next season in the winter. This role offers opportunities for learning, leadership, building relationships, and making a meaningful impact to Wildfire staff. The role also provides flexibility, with options for modified schedules and overtime during peak times.

About this position:
This position is based in Castlegar.
After successful completion of probation period (6 months) flexible work options may be available; this position may be able to work from home up to 2 days per week subject to an approved telework agreement. Flexible work options may not be available during emergency operations response periods.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future permanent and/or temporary vacancies.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Diploma in a field related to business administration or public administration and 1 year of related experience*; OR
- Certificate in business administration or public administration and 2 years of related experience*; OR
- Grade 12 graduation plus 3 years related experience* or an equivalent combination of education and training; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and training may be considered; AND
- Demonstrated supervisory experience
- Experience in financial and administrative policies and procedures.

- Valid BC Class 5 drivers license.
