Overview
Are you passionate about providing outstanding customer service to internal and external clients and performing a variety of administrative responsibilities? We are looking for an Administrative Assistant AO/SDL to join our Prevention Field Services team in our Fort St. John office.
In this role, you'll provide work direction to support staff and assist with office administration to facilitate effective operations with a high standard of customer service. If you have experience in office administration and can effectively build rapport and trust with a team, we'd like to hear from you.
This is a temporary role for approximately 6 months.
How you'll make a difference: You'll provide compassionate, supportive service to people injured at work.
Where you'll work
WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines the convenience of working remotely with the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.
In this role, you'll work primarily from your B.C. home and occasionally in our Fort St. John office.

What you'll do
- Provide work direction to support staff and ensure departmental work standards are maintained
- Orientate new employees to the office and arrange for and assist in the technical training of staff
- Assist the manager in the administration of the office by preparing reports, receiving incoming mail, and establishing and maintaining files and records
- Develop and implement changes in procedures and workflow
- Set up and maintain office systems and procedures including looking after supplies and equipment
- Assist the manager in recruitment testing

- Motivate individuals and teams in the performance of their daily tasks to encourage a high level of customer service
- Communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing, to a variety of groups and individuals
- Work as a member of a team by proactively assisting, supporting, and cooperating with team members
Your background and experience
- Completion of grade 12
- A minimum of 9 months of work experience in an administrative or clerical role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with MS Office - Word and Excel
