Do I need post-secondary training or a degree to do sales and marketing?
As with every industry these days, individuals with additional education will have the opportunity to advance further. While some may people may still be promoted on experience alone, taking additional courses or going back to school for marketing, sales, customer service or business will help you reach your sales and marketing career goals.
For technical and industrial sales and marketing positions, you may need more than just sales and marketing experience. For example, many high tech firms favour candidates with engineering backgrounds and pharmaceutical companies tend to be drawn to people with science degrees.
